Introduction:
Angry IP scanner is an IP address and port scanner. It could scan for alive and dead hosts when given an IPaddress range .The alive hosts could be further scanned to find their open ports. It is cross-platform and lightweight. It does not require any installations, and can be freely copied and used anywhere.
While scanning Angry IP scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it's alive then it scan ports etc . It also has additional features, for gathering Net BIOS information like computer name, workgroup name, currently logged in user and MAC address.
Scanning results can be saved to CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. With the help of plugins, Angry IP Scanner can gather much more information about scanned IPs. Anybody who can write Java code is able to write plugins and extend functionality of Angry IP Scanner. In order to increase scanning speed, it uses multithreaded approach: here a separate thread is created to scan each IP address.
Purpose:
Angry IP can be used to detect the live and dead host in a given IP address range, and to know the open ports of live host.
